Area residents invited to participate in survey about Hwy 23 in Marshall

WILLMAR, Minn. – Area residents, business owners and others are invited to participate in a survey about Highway 23 through Marshall.

Staff from SRF Consulting Group, Inc. were in Marshall on Tuesday, June 21 at the Marshall-Lyon County Library presenting information gathered as part of the Highway 23 Safety Assessment.  At this meeting community members were invited to participate in a real time poll where they were asked to rank their concerns about Highway 23 in Marshall as well as their top two intersections of concern along Highway 23.

Community members unable to attend are encouraged to visit the website to view the materials presented as well as to take a survey about Highway 23 concerns and rank priority intersections.  All materials can be found at www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy23marshallstudy/.  The survey can be taken at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/marshallhwy23.

A fourth open house will be held in August to go over a DRAFT report with the public.  The final assessment report is due late summer/early fall.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and its partners, the city of Marshall, Lyon County and the Marshall Chamber of Commerce are conducting a safety assessment to evaluate the current and future performance of Highway 23 and develop short and long term strategies to manage the corridor now and in the future.
