DATE CHANGE: Open House for Hwy 19 project set for June 1

WILLMAR, Minn. – The open house for the Highway 19 project is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1 at the Ivanhoe VFW (116 E Saxton St.) from 4:30 - 6 p.m.  Highway 19 (from the South Dakota border to Ivanhoe and Highway 19 from Lyon County Road 5 to Lyon County Road 7) will be resurfaced this summer.  Construction is scheduled to begin June 6 and finish in July of 2016. 

This project includes a two week detour to replace two culverts. The paving portion of the project will be done under traffic utilizing alternating lane closures and flaggers with a pilot car.

Detour Route

  • Traveling west from Ivanhoe:  south at jct of Highway 19/Highway 75, west on Lincoln County Road 16 and north on Lincoln County Road 1.
  • Traveling east to Ivanhoe:  south on Lincoln County Road 1, east on Lincoln County Road 16 and north on Highway 75, east on Highway 19.
