Hwy 68 and Hwy 75 projects near Canby to begin April 18

WILLMAR, Minn. – Two projects near Canby are set to begin Monday, April 18. 

Highway 68 from the South Dakota state line to Canby is a preservation project.  Motorists can anticipate lane closures as crews overlay 11 miles of road.  Delays are possible during peak traffic times.  A flagging operation will be providing traffic control for the moving operation.  Mark Sand & Gravel, Inc. is the contractor on the project.  The estimated cost of the project is $2.5 million and includes the Highway 75 project below.  For more information, or to sign up for project updates, visit www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy68canby.

Highway 75 north of Canby is an overlay project from Highway 67 to Highway 212.  Highway 75 in the city of Canby is a mill and overlay project.  Motorists can anticipate lane closures starting overlay 8.4 miles of road.  Delays are possible during peak traffic times.  A flagging operation will be providing traffic control for the moving operation.  Mark Sand & Gravel, Inc. is the contractor on the project.  The estimated cost of the project is $2.5 million and includes the Highway 68 project above.  For more information, or to sign up for project updates, visit www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy75canby.

Both projects are starting early than planned due to favorable weather and an early spring.  Both projects are scheduled to be complete in mid-May.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones.  Remember orange cones, no phones.  Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.
