Public invited to learn more about Hwy 14 rehabilitation project on April 9
Flood mitigation west of Florence and a portion of the resurfacing work will require a detour
WILLMAR, Minn. – Area residents, business owners and other interested individuals are invited to attend an open house to learn about traffic changes, construction plans and other details for a project to resurface Hwy 14 from Florence to Tracy and mitigate flooding west of Florence.
The open house will be held Wednesday, April 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Tyler Fire Hall, 101 East Lincoln Street, Tyler, MN.
Those attending the open house can learn more about the project’s schedule, how it will affect traffic, view a layout of the detour, take home project information and get their questions answered directly from Minnesota Department of Transportation and contractor staff responsible for the project.
The $5.2 million project is scheduled to begin in mid-May, with an anticipated completion date of November 2014. When completed in November, the project will:
- Improve drainage to help prevent spring road flooding,
- Provide a smoother road surface, and
- Improve sidewalk access in Tracy
