Motorists asked to drive with extreme caution on area roads during annual bicycle ride

Willmar, Minn. –  Motorists traveling on area roads are asked to slow down and watch for bicyclists participating in the Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota’s 9th Annual Bike Minnesota event.

The ride takes place over the Labor Day weekend.  Bikers will be utilizing Sibley State Park in northwest Kandiyohi County as their base camp.

Bicyclists will travel into the area on Friday, Aug. 30.  Motorists are asked to be extremely vigilant along Highway 9 on Saturday, Aug. 31 when the group travels into the town of Sunburg.

Parks and Trails Council Annual Bike Minnesota event participants will explore the natural and cultural history—as well as current happenings—in the region around Sibley State Park.  Former Congressman and retired Minnesota Court of Appeals Judge, David Minge, will lead the event.
