Sidewalk work on Hwy 75 in Lake Benton begins week of Sept. 10.

WILLMAR, Minn. – Motorists and pedestrians in Lake Benton may experience delays beginning Monday, Sept. 10, as sidewalk closures begin for area pedestrian accessibility projects.

The project will be complete by the end of September, weather permitting. Work consists of installing new pedestrian ramps and accessible pedestrian signals for pedestrians with hearing or sight impairments.

A road resurfacing project from Lake Benton to Pipestone Creek is scheduled to begin Oct. 15.  Knife River Corp. is the contractor for the $1.3 million projects.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, as pedestrians may use alternate or unexpected locations to cross. For more information about MnDOT’s accessibility program, visit
