Hwy 23 concrete repair project near Granite Falls begins July 25
Traffic will be detoured
WILLMAR, Minn. – Motorists will encounter a detour on Hwy 23 from Clara City to Hwy 212 near Granite Falls July 25 as crews begin a concrete repair project.
The concrete repair project begins 600 feet south of the Hwy 23/Hwy 7 junction in Clara City to the Hwy 23/Hwy212 junction east of Granite Falls. The project includes removing and replacing deteriorated concrete.
Hwy 23 traffic will be detoured south on Chippewa County Road 2/Renville County Road 9, then west on Hwy 212 to Hwy 23.
During construction and road maintenance work, Mn/DOT urges drivers to:
- Stay alert, expect the unexpected. Be patient.
- Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
- Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Don’t use cell phones while driving.
- Remember text messaging while driving is illegal.
- Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
