Hwy 23 maintenance project begins June 13
WILLMAR, Minn. – Motorists will encounter minor traffic delays on the four-lane section of Hwy 23 from the Hwy 23/71 split north of Willmar to north of New London beginning Monday, June 13.
Crews will seal coat the highway, which preserves the surface of the road.
Crews expect to complete work by Friday, June 20, weather permitting.
During road construction and maintenance work, MnDOT urges drivers to:
- Stay alert, expect the unexpected and be patient.
- Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
- Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Do not use cell phones while driving.
- Remember text messaging while driving is illegal.
- Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
