Resurfacing project on East Hwy 12 in Willmar begins May 9
Detour in place May 11 through May 14
WILLMAR, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays and a brief detour May 9 when crews begin a resurfacing project on Hwy 12 from Sixth Street East to 24th Street in Willmar.
Flagging operations will direct traffic through the work zone.
A brief detour will be in effect May 11 through May 14 as crews install loop detectors for the signal system at the junction of Hwy 12 and Lakeland Drive.
Hwy 12 traffic will be detoured to Litchfield Avenue, then back to Hwy 12. Traffic on Lakeland Drive will be detoured west on Becker Avenue, north on 13th Street to Litchfield Avenue, to Lakeland Drive.
The project is expected to be completed by May 23, weather permitting.
The construction project will provide a smoother ride for motorists.
Motorists are reminded to drive with extreme caution through the work zones and watch for workers and equipment.
