Pavement marking project in southwestern Minnesota begins May 16
WILLMAR, Minn. - Motorists may encounter brief delays as installation of ground-in pavement markings begins May 16 in Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, Pipestone, and Renville counties:
- Hwy 23—Pipestone to Marshall
- Hwy 71—Hwy 212 to Hwy 7
- Hwy 212—west of Sacred Heart to Renville
- Hwy 212—west of Olivia to Renville County Road 16
Flagging operations will be conducted on two-lane sections of highway to guide motorists through the work zones.
Mn/DOT places ground-in pavement markings along highway centerlines and edge lines as a cost-saving measure. The lifespan of the markings are extended due to reduced damage from snowplows, which improves visibility and safety for the traveling public.
The project is expected to be completed by June 17, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to drive with extreme caution through the work zones and watch for workers and equipment.
