Resurfacing on Hwy 12 east of Willmar begins in May
WILLMAR, Minn. —The resurfacing project on Hwy 12 from Sixth Street east to 24th Street in Willmar is scheduled to begin in May. The project will provide a smoother ride for motorists.
Mn/DOT is aware of the current condition of the Hwy 12 driving surface and crews continue to fill the numerous potholes on a regular basis. The current cold temperatures limit Mn/DOT’s ability to utilize patching material to perform well for the long term. Moisture, coupled with the freeze-thaw cycle and heavy traffic, cause the patching materials to easily dislodge, which results in the reappearance of potholes.
