Hwy 75, three miles south of Madison will close to traffic today at 9:30 a.m. due to flooding
WILLMAR, Minn. — (8:30 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol will close Hwy 75, three miles south of Madison today at 9:30 a.m. due to flooding.
Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route around the flooded area. The highway segment will remain closed until further notice.
Mn/DOT had provided 24-hour flagging operations since March 23 due to water over the highway.
When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
