Lane closures on west Hwy 12 in Willmar scheduled to begin Feb. 12
WILLMAR, Minn. —The eastbound lanes of west Highway 12/Litchfield Avenue in Willmar will be closed to traffic beginning early Saturday morning, Feb. 12, as crews begin demolition of a church at Highway 12 and Seventh Street.
Traffic will be diverted to the westbound lanes of Highway 12, one lane in each direction. Message boards, signing and traffic delineators will direct motorists through the work zone.
The lane closures will remain in effect during daylight hours of Saturday, Feb. 12 and Sunday, Feb. 13.
Seventh Street and Eighth Street will be closed to traffic. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges drivers to:
- Drive with caution, watch for signs and be alert for workers in the work zone.
- Never enter a road that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
- Minimize distractions.
- Don’t use cell phones while driving and remember text messaging while driving is illegal.
- Be patient.
