Update: Restoration of original detour on Highway 59 south of Clarkfield begins Sept. 30
WILLMAR, Minn. —The restoration of the original detour route for the shoulder widening project on Highway 59 south of Clarkfield begins Thursday, Sept. 30.
The original detour route was closed on Sept. 28 due to flooding.
Beginning Sept. 30, southbound Highway 59 motorists will be detoured west on Highway 67, south on Yellow Medicine County Road 9, east on Yellow Medicine County Road 3 and back to Highway 59. A detour map is available at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/
The completion of the Highway 59 shoulder widening and culvert lining project from south of Clarkfield to Yellow Medicine County Road 3 has been delayed until mid-to late October due to wet soil conditions.
