Two-way traffic resumes on Hwy 59 at Hwy 23 junction in Marshall Sept. 24
Hwy 23, at the Hwy 59 intersection, continues to be restricted to one-lane
Two-way traffic will resume on Highway 59 at the Highway 23 junction in Marshall on Friday, Sept. 24. Motorists have encountered one-lane traffic since May 4 while crews work on a concrete resurfacing project.
Motorists will encounter brief delays at the intersection while crews remove traffic delineators, install signs and work on traffic signals.
Highway 23 traffic at the Highway 59 junction in Marshall continues to be channeled to the eastbound lanes while work continues on the westbound lanes.
The 12.2 mile, $16.7 million concrete overlay and reconstruction project began May 3 and is expected to be completed on Oct. 15, weather permitting. The new pedestrian underpass and trail is also expected to be complete on Oct. 15.
The completed project will reduce maintenance costs and improve pavement strength.
