Highway 59 shoulder widening project south of Clarkfield delayed until mid- to late September
WILLMAR, Minn. –The completion of the Highway 59 shoulder widening and culvert lining project from south of Clarkfield to Yellow Medicine County Road 3 has been delayed until mid-to late September due to wet soil conditions. The project began on July 19 with an expected completion date of Sept. 3.
The Highway 59 detour will remain in effect until further notice. [detour map]
During construction and road maintenance work, Mn/DOT urges drivers to:
- Stay alert, expect the unexpected.
- Never enter a road that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
- Minimize distractions.
- Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
