Detour on Highway 75 in Madison begins Aug. 23
WILLMAR, Minn. –Motorists will encounter a detour on Highway 75 in Madison from 1st Street to 9th Street on Monday, Aug. 23, as crews from the city of Madison begin a utility improvement project to clean out sanitary sewer lines.
Highway 75 traffic will be detoured on city streets from the north junction with Highway 40, east on Highway 40, north on 1st Avenue, west on Lac qui Parle County Road 22 to Highway 75.

The project is expected to be completed on Aug. 26, weather permitting.
During construction and road maintenance work, Mn/DOT urges drivers to:
- Stay alert, expect the unexpected.
- Don’t use cell phones while driving and remember text messaging while driving is illegal.
- Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
- Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
