Traffic switch scheduled at junction of Highway 19 and Highway 23 in Marshall July 28

WILLMAR, Minn. – Motorists will encounter a traffic switch at the junction of Highway 19 and Highway 23 in Marshall on approximately Wednesday, July 28.

Highway 19 traffic will be diverted from the westbound lane to the eastbound lane at the intersection of Highway 19 and Highway 23 in Marshall for paving operations, lighting and utility work at the intersection.

Traffic delineators and markings will direct motorists through the 1700-foot diversion to the eastbound lane.

Motorists will also encounter periodic access closures in Marshall until mid-August. The Highway 23 intersections with Highway 19, Highway 59 and Lyon County Road 7 will remain open throughout the project.

The 12-mile resurfacing project began May 3 and extends from Russell to one-half mile north of Highway 19 in Marshall. The project will reduce maintenance costs and improve pavement strength.

The project is expected to be completed on October 15, weather permitting.

Project information and a detour map are available at: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy23marshall/ or at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/roadwork/current.html.
