Mn/DOT awards bid on Highway 23 Paynesville bypass
WILLMAR, Minn.- The Minnesota Department of Transportation has awarded the Highway 23 Paynesville Bypass project to KGM Contractors, Inc., of Angora, Minn.
The 7.5 mile project runs from east of Kandiyohi County Road 6 north of New London to west of 263 Avenue in Paynesville and will improve mobility and safety for the traveling public. Construction is expected to begin mid-to-late April and be completed August 2012. Work will include grading, paving, construction of eight bridges and lighting.
The bid was $32,204,311.
This is the second bid opening for the project. The original bids were opened in November, 2009. Mn/DOT discovered a discrepancy in the bid process during the analysis and re-bid the project on Jan. 29, 2010.
