Highway 67 is closed for three miles from the junction with Highway 23 east of Granite Falls
WILLMAR, Minn.- (4:35 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol closed Highway 67 for three miles from the junction of Highway 23 east of Granite Falls due to flooding. The highway closed at approximately 4:15 p.m. today.
Highway 67 will remain closed until further notice as water levels continue to rise over the highway in that area.
Mn/DOT is advising motorists to avoid the area and find an alternative route. Message boards will be placed alerting motorists of the highway closure.
Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
