Update: Detour change for Highway 212 and Highway 29 detour in Montevideo
WILLMAR, Minn.- (7:15 am) The Minnesota Department of Transportation has changed the detour placed this morning for Highway 212 at the intersection with Highway 29 in Montevideo.
The detour change is due to water over Highway 212 between Montevideo and Wegdahl.
Highway 212 westbound traffic will be detoured east on Chippewa CR 7, north on CR 15 to Highway 7.
Highway 212 at the intersection with Highway 29 in Montevideo was closed to traffic earlier today for the construction of a levy by the Corp of Engineers.
Highway 212 will remain closed until further notice.
Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
