Highway 212 at intersection with Highway 29 in Montevideo to close at 6 a.m. March 22, for construction of a levy
WILLMAR, Minn.- (6:40 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol will close Highway 212 at the intersection with Highway 29 in Montevideo on Mon., March 22, 6 a.m. The Corp of Engineers will construct a levy on the highway due to possible flooding in the area.
Highway 212 westbound traffic will be detoured east on Chippewa CR 16, north on CR 15 to Highway 7.
Highway 212 will remain closed until further notice.
Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
