Highway 12, Highway 22 concrete rehabilitation project in Litchfield begins June 10;
Work will cease for 4th of July celebration and Litchfield Watercade
WILLMAR, Minn. - Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures beginning Wednesday, June 10, when crews begin a concrete rehabilitation project on Highway 12 and Highway 22 in Litchfield.
Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone from the west city limits to 4th Street on Highway 12 and from Pleasure Drive to Darwin Street on Highway 22.
The contractor will schedule a public meeting prior to June 10. Construction work will cease from July 3-12 to allow for the 4th of July celebration and the Litchfield Watercade.
The Litchfield project is part of a district-wide plan to rehabilitate the current concrete surface and extend the life of the roadway. Crews will remove and replace aged joint sealer and remove and replace the deteriorating concrete panels.
Forby Contracting, Inc., was awarded the project with a bid of $712,000. The Highway 12/Highway 22 project is scheduled to be complete by mid-August, weather permitting.
For more information on the project, contact Nathan Pederson, Mn/DOT project manager, at 320-214-6351, or Jim Christensen, project supervisor, at 320-214-6316.
