| WILLMAR, Minn. – A public open house to review the proposed intersection alternatives at North Business 71, Highway 294, Kandiyohi County Road 24 and 23rd Street in Willmar will be held Wednesday, May 13, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building, 2200 23rd Street NE, in Willmar.
The open house, which begins with a presentation at 5 p.m., will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the proposed alternatives and to provide comments. Representatives from the city, county and Mn/DOT will be available to answer questions.
The city of Willmar, Kandiyohi County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation hired CH2M Hill in August 2008 to further evaluate the nine alternatives selected by the three entities to improve the safety at this intersection. The evaluation resulted in three proposed recommendations which were presented to representatives of the city, county and Mn/DOT on Jan. 15, 2009.
