WILLMAR, Minn. - Weather permitting, plans call to overlay 9 miles of U.S. Highway 71 between the junction with State Highway 23 near Eagle Lake to State Highway 9 beginning Wednesday (May 21), according to officials at the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

According to Mn/DOT, the project will be conducted under traffic and take approximately 3 to 4 working days to complete. In anticipation of additional traffic over the Memorial Day weekend, plans call to suspend the project on Friday and complete the project after the holiday.

Motorists should prepare for delays and plan accordingly. Traffic control will consist of flaggers and a pilot car. Mn/DOT asks motorists to slow down in the work zone and to expect the unexpected.
