HIGHWAY 55 PROJECT
SET TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK
WEST OF EDEN VALLEY
WILLMAR, Minn.
- The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced today that,
weather permitting, improvements to Highway 55 west of Eden Valley
will get underway next week. It will be necessary to detour traffic
during the project. Mn/DOT anticipates that barricades will be in
place on Wednesday (July 31).
Highway 55 motorists will be detoured to Highway 22, County Road 3
and Highway 4. The detour adds approximately 10 miles. (see map)
According to Jim Christensen, Mn/DOT project supervisor, plans are
to complete a concrete rehabilitation, repair culverts and adding
bituminous shoulders. Weather permitting, the project is expected
to be complete early September.
The prime contractor for the $798,000 project is Midwest Concrete
Specialties, Inc. of Rosemount, Minn.
