WILLMAR,
Minn. - Motorists will encounter minor delays as crews begin an
overlay and aggregate shoulder project on Highway 40 from west junction
Highway 29 to junction Highway 119 beginning this week.
A similar project
on Highway 40, from the Kandiyohi/Chippewa county line to east junction
Highway 29, began on May 21. The paving is complete and the aggregate
shoulder and guardrail work remains, according to Jim Christensen,
project supervisor at the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Weather permitting,
both projects are expected to be complete in late June, according
to Jim Christensen,
Motorists are
reminded to slow down, stay alert and follow instructions from flaggers
in the work zone. Fines for speeding double in work zones.
The prime contractor for both projects is Central Specialties Inc.
of Alexandria, Minn.
