SHOULDER
RECONSTRUCTION PLANNED FOR HIGHWAY 22 SOUTH OF LITCHFIELD
Willmar,
Minn. – According to officials at the Minnesota Department of Transportation
office in Hutchinson, much needed improvements to the shoulders
on Highway 22 between Greenleaf and junction Highway 7 will begin
on or after Monday (September 25).
Crews
will begin reconstructing the shoulders the week of September 25
between junction Highway 7 to four miles north near Greenleaf. Plans
call to pave the shoulders the week of October
2.
Motorists
will encounter narrowed lanes in the project area. Flaggers will
direct traffic through the work zone. Weather permitting, Mn/DOT
anticipates that construction will be completed within 20 working
days.
Mn/DOT
advises motorists to slow down for their safety and the safety
of the construction workers in the project area.
The
traveling public comprises 98% of all deaths in work zone crashes.
Inattentiveness and driving too fast continues to be the most common
factor in these crashes. While traveling this fall, you will encounter
roadway work zone areas. Pay attention to work zones, slow down
and be prepared.
