HIGHWAY
19 AND 71 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN REDWOOD FALLS TO
BEGIN MONDAY
Willmar,
Minn. – According to officials at the Minnesota Department of Transportation
office in Hutchinson, improvements to Highways 19 and 71 in Redwood
Falls will begin on Monday (August 14).
Crews
will be completing a concrete pavement rehab project on Highway
19 between just west of Sunrise Boulevard and the Highway 19/71
split and at the intersection of Highway 71 south and 11th
Street. Motorists will encounter intermittent access restrictions
to businesses and lane closures in the project area. Plans call
to keep every other cross road open during the project.
Weather
permitting, Mn/DOT anticipates that construction will be completed
within 15 working days. If necessary, traffic control will be removed
over the Labor Day holiday at noon on Friday (September 1) and work
will resume on Tuesday.
Mn/DOT
advises motorists to slow down for their safety and the safety
of the construction workers in the project area.
The
traveling public comprises 98% of all deaths in work zone crashes.
Inattentiveness and driving too fast continues to be the most common
factor in these crashes. While traveling this summer, you will encounter
roadway work zone areas. Pay attention to work zones, slow down
and be prepared.
