County Announce Highway 268 and County Road 17 Improvement Projects
Willmar,
Minn. – Crews have begun preliminary utility work in the city of
Edgerton related to planned improvements to Trunk Highway 268 and
Pipestone County Road 17, according to officials at the Minnesota
Department of Transportation office in Marshall.
Mn/DOT and
Pipestone County entered into a partnership agreement to complete
the two projects. Plans call for grading and bituminous surfacing
of the highway and installing curb, gutter, concrete sidewalk, sanitary
water and storm sewer in Edgerton. County Road 17 will receive similar
improvements. Motorists are advised to watch for workers and to
give them plenty of room to work.
It will be necessary
to close T.H. 268 and detour traffic via city streets and county
roads beginning the week of July 10. Weather permitting, Mn/DOT
anticipates that the project will be completed in October.
Midwest Contracting,
Marshall, Minn., is the prime contractor for the $1,500,000 project.
