HIGHWAY 14 WILL BE DETOURED

Willmar, Minn. B Construction on U.S. Highway 14 between Balaton and junction U.S. Highway 59 will begin on or after Tuesday (May 9), according to officials at the Minnesota Department of Transportation office in Marshall.

Plans call for a mill and overlay and a box culvert replacement. It will be necessary to detour highway traffic during the project. The detour route, beginning at Balaton, will be north on County Road 5 to junction C.R. 2, east on C.R. 2 to junction T.H. 59, south on T.H. 59 to junction T.H. 14. The detour route adds 8 miles.

Mn/DOT anticipates that construction will be completed by the end of June.

Duininck Bros., Inc., Prinsburg, Minn., is the prime contractor for the $1,300,000 project.
