UPDATE: Hwy 30 east of Mapleton fully open to traffic

MANKATO, Minn. – (8:30 a.m.) Highway 30 east of Mapleton and east of Blue Earth County Road 14  fully opened to traffic this morning after being restricted to a stop-and-go situation due to flood waters approaching one lane of the two-lane highway late yesterday.

MnDOT crews have removed the temporary stop lights and the water subsided. The flooding appeared to be caused by backwaters from a nearby river ponding on the south side of Highway 30.
