Hwy 71 bridge open near Sanborn following flooding of Cottonwood River
MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation opened the bridge on Hwy 71 over the Cottonwood River near Sanborn.
The bridge was closed yesterday due to flooding of the Cottonwood River. MnDOT crews were able to inspect the bridge this morning after the water levels receded.
Flooding is difficult to predict and roads may be closed or restricted without warning. Log jams can further complicate flood forecasts. MnDOT is closely monitoring rivers throughout the area.
Motorists should check road conditions at www.511mn.org.
