Hwy 93 open from Hwy 169 to Henderson following flooding
MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation opened Hwy 93 from Hwy 169 to Henderson. This stretch of Hwy 93 was closed since June 24 due to flooding of the Minnesota River.
MnDOT will continue to closely monitor Hwy 93 for possible flooding of the Rush River, which may cause the Hwy to close again this evening.
To minimize damage to the saturated road bed, MnDOT has placed a 7-ton axle weight restriction on this stretch of Hwy 93. The weight restriction is anticipated to remain in place for approximately two weeks.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution as crews continue to work off the shoulder to establish erosion control and stabilize the surrounding area.
