Hwy 19 open from Henderson to Hwy 169 following flooding
MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation opened Hwy 19 from Hwy 169 to Henderson. This stretch of Hwy 19 has been closed since June 23 due to flooding of the Minnesota River.
Once water receded two feet below the shoulder, MnDOT crews were able to conduct necessary repairs to the shoulder and in-slope due to erosion.
To minimize damage to the saturated road bed, MnDOT has placed a 7-ton axle weight restriction on this stretch of Hwy 19. The weight restriction is anticipated to remain in place for approximately one to two weeks.
