Hwy 93 closed from Hwy 169 to Le Sueur due to flooding

MANKATO, Minn. (10:15 p.m.) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation closed Highway 93 from Highway 169 to Le Sueur due to flooding of the Minnesota River.

This section of Highway 93 will remain closed until further notice, and motorists are advised to use Highway 112 to access Le Sueur. The other Minnesota River flood impacts include the following previous closures, which are still in effect:

  • Highway 19 east of Henderson – closed June 23 (evening)
  • Highway 93 from Highway 169 to Henderson – closed June 24 (evening)

Motorists should seek alternate routes, as the roads will remain closed until the water level recedes and crews can inspect for safe operations.
Flooding is difficult to predict and roads may be closed or restricted without warning. Log jams can further complicate flood forecasts. MnDOT is closely monitoring rivers throughout the area.
