Hwy 14 New Ulm to Nicollet Task Force hosting second public meeting Feb. 22
MANKATO, Minn. — The Hwy 14 New Ulm to Nicollet Task Force is holding a second open house on Thursday, February 22 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Courtland Community Center to share draft concepts on Hwy 14 designs.
Concepts for review and public input include varying alternatives along the corridor with different types of intersections at Nicollet County Road 37 (20th Street in New Ulm), 571st Lane (New Ulm Quartzite Quarries), 561st Lane (Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School), Nicollet County Road 12, Nicollet County Road 24, and old Hwy 14 (Courtland).
The Hwy 14 task force is charged with providing recommendations to MnDOT District 7 that make the best use of potential transportation funding. The expansion of Hwy 14 from New Ulm to Nicollet is currently unfunded; however, MnDOT is advancing the design and environmental processes to be prepared for potential funding from programs such as the Minnesota legislature’s Corridors of Commerce.
Background information on Hwy 14 and the task force’s work can be found at www.mndot.gov/newulm/ . If you have any feedback on the design of Hwy 14 between New Ulm and Nicollet, contact Zak Tess at email@example.com, or via phone at 507-304-6199.
