MnDOT attends local events to help New Ulm “be ready” for 2018-19 construction
MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation wants area motorists to “be ready” for the Hwy 14/15 construction in New Ulm in 2018 and 2019 so they will have a presence at two upcoming events with construction and detour information.
The first opportunity to visit with MnDOT is on Mon, July 31 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the National Night Out Celebration in German Park, 200 North German Street sponsored by the city of New Ulm and United Way.
The next event MnDOT will participate in is the Brown County Fair. MnDOT staff are planning a booth inside the Civic Center on Fri, August 11 from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Hwy 14/15 New Ulm Gateway Project will be begin with preliminary work this winter. In 2018, Hwy 14/15 from Broadway to Nicollet Co Rd 21, including the bridge over Front Street, will be under construction. In 2019, MnDOT will replace the Minnesota River Bridge and build a new interchange at the intersection of Hwy 14/15/CR21. Both 2018 and 2019 work will require a detour.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to visit with MnDOT representatives at the events to ask questions and get detour maps. Information is also available at www.mndot.gov/newulm .
