Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 68 resurfacing to begin July 11

Watch for pilot cars and flaggers

MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 68 west of Highway 4 in Brown County are advised of lane restrictions and brief delays as crews begin resurfacing on Monday, July 11.

Traffic will be managed with a pilot car and flagging operations until the project is complete in early August.  Drivers are reminded to use caution through the work zone and watch for workers, equipment and traffic control devices.

The project consists of milling and overlaying Highway 68 from Brown County Road 29 to the north junction with Highway 4.  The work will result in a much smoother surface for motorists and extend the life of the pavement.

Central Specialties, Inc. was awarded the project for $1,625,454.  The project was previously announced to begin in June, but was moved to accommodate the contractor’s schedule.
