Orange barrels on a highway

Hwys 4 and 15 scheduled for seal coating week of July 18

Motorists advised to watch for flaggers

MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists are advised to pay attention and expect brief delays as sections of Highway 4 and 15 are scheduled for work the week of July 18, weather permitting.

  • The four-mile east-west section of Highway 4 west of Godahl is scheduled for seal coating on July 18.
  • Highway 15 from the Minnesota/Iowa border to the south edge of Fairmont is scheduled for July 19-21.

Motorists can expect to encounter flaggers and a pilot car beginning.  Motorists are also advised of loose gravel.

The work primarily consists of seal coating to prevent water from getting under the surface and damaging the pavement.

Minnesota’s highway system is getting older and as it ages, it needs more work to keep it in good shape.  These projects are preventative maintenance on newer pavements to keep them in good condition longer.
