Meeting on Hwy 14 safety project at Eagle Lake set May 10
Construction starts May 31
MANKATO, Minn. – Eagle Lake residents and businesses are encouraged to attend an open-house on the construction of the Highway 14 access safety improvements on Tuesday, May 10 at City Hall in Eagle Lake from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The project is scheduled to begin May 31 with traffic intermittently reduced to one lane each way until September, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the work zones.
Safety improvements at three intersections include:
- Highway 14 and Blue Earth County Road 17: J-turn (RCUT)
- Highway 14 and Blue Earth County Road 55: A three-quarter intersection with turning restrictions
- Highway 14 and Blue Earth County Road 56: An eastbound separated right turn lane and a westbound median acceleration lane
MnDOT staff and the contractor will be present at the open house to lay out the construction staging and answer any questions.
MnDOT worked with Blue Earth County and the city of Eagle Lake to make safety improvements and the project was awarded federal Highway Safety Improvement Program funding
