Interstate 90 construction in Jackson County resumes March 28

I-90 traffic reduced to single lane in each direction; ramp closures and head-to-head traffic expected April 4

MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists are advised that construction on Interstate 90, between Round Lake and Lakefield in Jackson County, will resume on March 28, weather permitting.

I-90 traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction beginning March 28. Westbound traffic will be switched over to the eastbound lanes beginning April 4.  The Highway 86 westbound ramps will also be closed starting April 4 and traffic will be detoured to Jackson County Road 9.

Construction, which began last year, includes concrete paving and pipe work and is expected to be completed by late July.  The project will improve the safety and smoothness of I-90.

HcPCi is the contractor on the $36,000,000 project.

This project and future I-90 work can be found at mndot.gov/d7/projects/I90preserve/.
