March Highway 22 construction meetings set in Mapleton and Beauford

Construction planned for 2017-18

MANKATO, Minn. – The public is encouraged to attend an open house to review the current designs for reconstruction of Highway 22 in the Mapleton area scheduled for construction in 2017-18.  Area residents and businesses are encouraged to stop by on Wednesday, March 16 between 4 and 6 p.m. the Mapleton Fire Hall, 103 3rd Ave. N.E..

A separate meeting for Beauford residents and businesses will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at
Beauford United Methodist Church on Highway 22 to look at their specific issues.

Staff from the Minnesota Department of Transportation is nearing the final design stages and looking to review the plans with local residents and businesses. Detailed layouts and detour possibilities will be available.

Reconstruction (mill and overlay near Mapleton), left turn lanes and a bridge replacement over the Cobb River are all planned for the project which includes Highway 22 from Mapleton to Blue Earth County Road 15.
