Hwy 62 detoured for new surface beginning June 2


MANKATO, Minn. –  Motorists on Hwy 62 from Fulda to Windom will be detoured beginning June 2 as crews begin construction of a new road surface.

The detour includes Hwy 59, Nobles County Road 16, Jackson County Roads 24 and Hwy 60.

The project, which consists of reclaiming the old pavement and paving a new surface, is expected to be complete in late August.
Knife River Corporation was awarded the contract with a bid of $10,267,793.

With this project, MnDOT is working to enhance a safe, efficient and effective transportation system and ensure that the transportation system with continue to serve the state for many years.      

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution in a work zone and reminds them never to enter a roadway that has been blocked with barricades or cones.
