Hwy 68 at Mankato is now open

Bridge replacement project complete; detour removed

MANKATO, Minn. – Hwy 68 at the junction with Hwy 169 in Mankato opened to traffic today.

Traffic had been detoured since mid-July to allow crews to replace the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation replaced the 1936 bridge because it had reached the end of its useful lifespan.

Minnowa Construction of Harmony was the contractor on the $1,543,387 project.
