MnDOT collecting drainage information for Hwy 60 plans
from Windom to Mountain Lake

Open House set for November 21 in Windom

MANKATO, Minn. – Landowners along Hwy 60 from Mountain Lake to Windom are encouraged to bring their tile maps to an open house at the Windom Community Center, 1750 Cottonwood Lake Drive, on Thursday, Nov. 21 anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Engineers at the Minnesota Department of Transportation are working on the plans for the Hwy 60 four-lane expansion from Windom to Mountain Lake scheduled for construction in 2017-18.  To ensure that construction goes as smooth as possible, they are trying to collect tile locations so that existing drainage is preserved and future drainage problems are minimized.  MnDOT engineers are also looking for input on the placement of storm water ponds as they are required to incorporate them into the plans as per the Clean Water Act.

Individuals unable to attend the open house can contact Shanna Kent at 507-304-6139.  To learn more about the Hwy 60 project from Windom to St. James visit www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/hwy60stjames.
