Minor traffic changes for Hwy 169 in Blue Earth begin Sept. 6
Construction moves to next stage; detour to include S. Rice Street
MANKATO, Minn. – The reconstruction of Hwy 169 through Blue Earth has progressed to the next stage and the detour at the south end of Blue Earth will extend to South Rice Street and East 14th Street Sept. 6.
Motorists are advised to follow the detour and watch for detour signs.
Late Friday (or early Saturday) the detour will include Faribault County Roads 44, 11, 16 (East 7th Street), South Rice Street and East 14th Street.
At this stage of construction work moves south of 7th Street where additional Hwy 169 pavement will be removed, and city underground utility and storm sewer replaced. Crews are continuing to work towards completion in late fall.

- Attend bi-weekly meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at the Public Safety Center

The city, county, state partnership project was awarded to Ulland Brothers Incorporated for $12,815,869. The work includes resurfacing, four roundabouts, lighting, ADA improvements and utilities and will result in a smoother, safer and more accessible highway.
