Designs for Hwy 4 in St. James topic of Sept. 5 open house

Construction scheduled for 2016

MANKATO, Minn. – The public is encouraged to attend an open house on the reconstruction of Hwy 4 through St. James from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 5 at the Community Building, 501 First Avenue S., St. James.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the city of St. James are partnering to make improvements to Hwy 4/30 (Armstrong Boulevard).  MnDOT engineers and city planners are at the early stages of project designs and want to get feedback on their concepts.

The project, which extends from south of the Watonwan County Fairgrounds to 11th Avenue North, includes utility replacement throughout the project, upgrading sidewalk and pedestrian ramps for safe ADA accessible accommodations, lighting, and intersection and access revisions.
