Hwy 59/60 work in Worthington resumes May 8

Highway 60 traffic detoured east and Highway 59 traffic detoured west

MANKATO, Minn. –The final year of the Highway 60 reconstruction in Worthington begins Wednesday, May 8 and includes multiple detours as crews work on the section between Nobles County Road 35 and Interstate 90.

Highway 60 traffic will be detoured east of Worthington using County Road 35 and County Road 3.

Highway 59 traffic will be detoured west of Worthington on County Road 10 and County Road 35.

The detours (map attached) will be in place until the completion of the project in late fall 2013.

This final phase began last July 9 and includes work on Highway 60 from north of Nobles County Road 35 to Interstate 90.  The project includes complete reconstruction of Highway 60 and I-90 ramps including building roundabouts at the eastbound I-90 ramps and the Highway 59/60 intersection.  The intersection at Armour Road will be controlled with stop lights. The project also includes the construction of a major storm sewer to drain rainwater from the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge underpass.

R & G construction of Marshall is the contractor on the final project with a bid of $14,546,545.

Landscaping along Highway 60 in Worthington is scheduled for 2014.
