Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 13 in Waseca construction begins June 3

Traffic restrictions, limited parking and temporary sidewalk closures expected

MANKATO, Minn. – Hwy 13 (State Street N.) motorists and pedestrians in Waseca should expect various impacts as construction begins June 3.

Initial work includes improved access for some 25 sidewalk ramps from 3rd Avenue to Waseca County Road 5 at the north end of town.  Pedestrians can expect temporary sidewalk closures and rerouting.  Motorists should be alert to concrete trucks at work.  The ADA work is expected to take about three weeks.

Hwy 13 resurfacing from 3rd Avenue to County Road 5 will begin after the sidewalks are complete and traffic will be controlled with a pilot car and flaggers.  Motorists are asked to use caution in the work zone and watch for workers, equipment and traffic control devices.

The project will result in a smoother ride and improved access for pedestrians.

Crane Creek Asphalt is the contractor on the $1,134,708 project.
